Q: How Sacredfice formed?

Q: Bagaimana Sacredfice terbentuk?

A: Sacredfice is my solo project, I started to write the songs many years ago then I decided to record it in 2012, it was a long work but the results come out, I released the album "Sacredfice" at the end of 2013.

A: Sacredfice adalah project solo saya, saya mulai menulis lagu bertahun-tahun yang lalu dan saya memutuskan untuk merekam itu pada tahun 2012, sebuah kerja yang lama tetapi hasilnya ada, saya merilis album "Sacredfice" pada akhir 2013.

Q: Why did you choose Sacredfice as the band's name? 

Q: Kenapa memilih Sacredfice sebagai nama band?

A: Sacredfice is the mix of the words “Sacred” and “Sacrifice”. The meaning is that: to reach sacred, every man must sacrifice himself for each others, as Jesus sacrificed himself for us all, this is the message he left. So I just want to describe the two concepts as two sides of the same coin; when you sacrifice something precious for the good of the others you are doing something sacred, and you’re meeting the essence of Christ. 

A: Sacredfice adalah campuran dari kata-kata Sacred(Suci) dan Sacrifice(Pengorbanan). Artinya untuk mencapai kesucian, setiap orang harus mengorbankan dirinya untuk satu sama lain, seperti yang Yesus mengorbankan dirinya bagi kita semua, ini adalah pesan yang ditinggalkan. Jadi saya hanya ingin menjelaskan dua konsep sebagai dua sisi mata uang yang sama; ketika Anda mengorbankan sesuatu yang berharga untuk kebaikan orang lain, kamu melakukan sesuatu yang sakral, dan kamu akan bertemu esensi Kristus.

Q: What the purpose of forming this band?

Q: Apa tujuan membentuk band ini?

A: I just wanted to create an album mixing my favourite music styles, and I wanted to do it by myself, reflecting my music and my ideals. It was like an experiment for my musical path but I'm satisfied about the result

A: Saya hanya ingin membuat album pencampuran gaya musik favorit saya, dan saya ingin melakukannya sendiri, mencerminkan musik saya dan cita-cita saya. Itu seperti sebuah eksperimen untuk jalur musik saya tapi saya puas dengan hasilnya

Q: Who influences your music?

Q: Siapa yang mempengaruhi gaya bermusik?

A: Well, my music is well inspired by traditional heavy-thrash metal bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Helloween, Metal Church, Cacophony, Annihilator, my main roots are in albums like “Ride The Lightning” (the best one for me), “Iron Maiden”, “Rust in Peace”, “Walls of Jericho” etc … I'm also inspired by progbands like Shadow Gallery, Tool, Angra, Genesis; and also the classics of hard rock (Van Halen, Boston). This is just naming a few, I also find my source of inspiration in a lot of Christian bands.

A: Musik saya terinspirasi oleh band-band tradisional heavy thrash metal seperti Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Helloween, Metal Church, Cacophony, Annihilator, akar utama saya adalah dalam album seperti "Ride The Lightning" (yang terbaik untuk saya), "Iron Maiden", "Rust in Peace", "Walls of Jericho" dll ... Saya juga terinspirasi oleh band-band prog seperti Shadow Gallery, Tool, Angra, Genesis; dan juga klasik hard rock (Van Halen, Boston). Ini hanya penamaan beberapa, saya juga menemukan sumber inspirasi dalam banyak band Kristen.

Q: Do you guys have a testimony with Christ in your life?

Q: Apa kalian mempunyai kesaksian bersama Kristus?

A: Sure, my testimony is a bit long, but I can summing say I had my first experience with Christ when I was very young. I growed up in the church so I had a Christian education, but I still didn't know Christ for how I needed to know him. When I had my first spiritual experience my point of view it radically changed. It started a spiritual path where gradually I discovered new faces of God. And the point is that my spiritual path is strightly connected to my musical path, since the beginning I wanted to create my music to express my faith. Sacredfice is the result of that. Now I'm engaged in the activities of my local church: I play in the worship service and I lead the youth group of the church.

A: Tentu, kesaksian saya ini agak panjang, tapi aku bisa menyimpulkan katakanlah saya punya pengalaman pertama saya dengan Kristus ketika saya masih sangat muda. Aku besar di gereja jadi saya punya pendidikan Kristen, tapi aku masih tidak mengenal Kristus untuk bagaimana saya perlu tahu Dia. Ketika saya punya pengalaman spiritual pertama saya sudut pandang saya itu berubah secara radikal. Dimulai jalan spiritual di mana secara bertahap saya menemukan wajah-wajah baru dari Allah. Dan intinya adalah bahwa jalan spiritual saya lurus terhubung ke jalur musik saya, sejak awal saya ingin membuat musik saya untuk mengekspresikan iman saya. Sacredfice adalah hasil dari itu. Sekarang aku terlibat dalam kegiatan gereja lokal saya: saya bermain di kebaktian dan saya memimpin kelompok pemuda gereja.

Q: What you think about the church that blessing the gay and lesbian marriage?

Q: Apa pendapat kalian tentang gereja yang memberkati pernikahan LGBT?

A: As I respect gay and lesbian people it don't agree with homosexual marriage in the church, I think the bible is clearly against homosexuality (I want to clarify: I mean against homosexuality, not against homosexuals), so I find a bit contradictory homosexual marriage in the church.

A: Dengan segala hormat saya menghormati orang gay dan lesbian, saya tidak setuju dengan perkawinan homoseksual di dalam gereja, saya pikir Alkitab menjelaskan tentang homoseksualitas (saya ingin menjelaskan: Maksud saya terhadap homoseksualitas, tidak terhadap kaum homoseksual), jadi saya menemukan sedikit pertentangan perkawinan homoseksual di dalam gereja.

Q: What do you think about Indonesia?

Q: Apa pendapat kalian tentang Indonesia?

A: It's a tough question, for I live very distant and I never had a chance to come in Indonesia, so I'm a bit unprepared ahaha. But I think it's a cool place to visit, mainly for it's natural landscape.

A: Ini pertanyaan yang sulit, karena saya tinggal sangat jauh dan aku tidak pernah punya kesempatan untuk datang di Indonesia, jadi aku agak tidak siap haha. Tapi saya pikir itu adalah tempat yang keren untuk dikunjungi, terutama untuk itu pemandangan alamnya.

Q: Would you like to have a gig in Indonesia?

Q: Apa kalian ingin bermain di Indonesia?

A: Sure, it would be fantastic. The project Sacredfice now is stopped. But if I have a chance to come in Indonesia I really would be glad about it.

A: Tentu, itu akan fantastis. Project Sacredfice sekarang dihentikan. Tapi jika saya memiliki kesempatan untuk datang di Indonesia saya benar-benar akan senang tentang hal itu.

Q: What do you guys think about the radical terrorist acts by ISIS and others?

Q: Apa pendapat kalian tentang gerakan radikal teroris seperti ISIS dan yang lainnya?

A: It's surely a very worrying topic, I think we need to fight terrorism in all it's forms. ISIS and islamic foundamentalism are very dangerous (I think more than how people use to say), the point is it seems to be something you can't negoziate with, and that's the worst side of it.

A: Ini tentu topik yang sangat mengkhawatirkan, saya pikir kita perlu untuk memerangi terorisme dalam segala bentuk itu. ISIS dan fundamentalisme Islam yang sangat berbahaya (saya pikir lebih dari bagaimana orang biasa katakan), intinya adalah tampaknya menjadi sesuatu yang tidak dapat bernegosiasi, dan itulah sisi terburuk.

Q: What are your plans for the future?

Q: Apa rencana kalian kedepannya?

A: As I sayed before the Sacredfice project is stopped right now, but I'm working very hard with my other Christian band called S91, we play prog metal. We recorded our new album (a super album), now we are in the final steps of the production, hoping to release it as soon as possible.

A: Seperti yang saya bilang sebelumnya bahwa Project Sacredfice dihentikan sekarang, tapi aku bekerja sangat keras dengan band Kristen lainnya saya disebut S91, kami bermain prog metal. Kami merekam album baru kami (a super album), sekarang kita berada dalam langkah-langkah akhir dari produksi, berharap untuk merilisnya sesegera mungkin.
